DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD ticked up yesterday and currently sits at C$1.3350. The
pair traded flat in yesterday's Asia-Pac session before climbing to session high
on broader dollar strength & a downtick in oil prices. However, USD/CAD pulled
back thereafter, as Saudi Arabia announced limiting crude supplies to U.S.
refineries. WTI last ~$52.80/barrel, off of yesterday's high at $53.27.
- Bulls look to retake yesterday's high at C$1.3384 before challenging the Dec
12 high at C$1.3398. Conversely, bearish focus falls on yesterday's low at
C$1.3339 and a fall through that level would open up the Dec 12 low of C$1.3323.
- Canadian docket Friday is rather empty, but focus next week turns to domestic
CPI due Wednesday, as well as GDP & retail sales due Friday. Elsewhere, the BoC
will publish its biz. outlook survey next Friday.
