HONG KONG
HONG KONG: USD/HKD shot higher as Hong Kong Leader Lam said that the extradition
bill is dead, but has retraced the reaction move since. The rate had already
traded on the upper half of permitted range prior to the announcement.
- USD/HKD last sits at HKD7.8068, ~75 pips better off. After the pair showed
above HKD7.8100, bulls look for a clean breach of the level before turning focus
to the 21-DMA at HKD7.8137. Bears look to HKD7.8025, where the pair bottomed on
Jun 21, and a fall below would open the Jul 8/3 highs of HKD7.8013/10.
