DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY last Y112.55, 15 pips or so lower on the day after closing
Friday virtually unchanged.
- The pair travelled to early session lows of Y112.43 today, pressured by
broader risk off flows, before moving back to Y112.60 after soft Japanese GDP
data hit, before the weight posed by broader risk sentiment came back to the
fore. The Nikkei 225 trades ~2.4% lower on the day at writing.
- Bears look for a clean break below the nearby cloud base at Y112.46 before
targeting the 100-DMA at Y112.27, while bulls need to retake Friday's peak at
Y112.93 ahead of challenging the 50-DMA at Y113.07.
- Japanese focus this week falls on the quarterly BoJ Tankan survey, as well as
the usual BoJ Rinban ops.
