DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY slipped Thursday as USD was offered into the month-end,
while NY hours saw U.S. Pres Trump announce that he will hold a press conference
on China Friday.
- The rate last trades at Y107.66, little changed on the day, as we await
Japan's data dump, including Tokyo CPI, unemployment, retail sales, flash
industrial output and, later in the day, housing starts.
- Bears continue to watch May 19 low of Y107.30 and a drop below there would
clear the way to May 13 low of Y106.74. Bulls look to take out Apr 16 & 17/May
19 highs at Y108.08/09 before taking aim at Apr 10 peak at Y108.59.
- Japan's calendar next week features final Jibun Bank M'fing PMI, capex &
company sales/profits, due Monday.
