USD: USDCAD sees its largest hourly move

  • The Dollar continues to trade on the front foot going into the European session and post the EU Cash Equity open.
  • Trump's threats of Tariff has been the main driver, and USDCAD has seen its largest single hourly move in multiple Years following talks of 25% tariff on product from Canada and Mexico.
  • USDCAD has seen close to a 200 (196) pips range overnight, reached its worst level since April 2020.
  • While USDCAD is now some 50 pips off its printed high, next upside resistance would be seen at 1.4196 1.764 proj of the Oct 17 - Nov 1 - 6 price swing, above the 1.4178 printed high.
  • Small support moves up to 1.4086, although today's low is all the way down to 1.3982.
