USDCAD Hits New Highs Since Oct 2022 As Stocks Turn Lower

CANADA
  • The S&P e-mini pushing to new session lows and through yesterday’s low has outweighed an intraday bounce for WTI, and sees USDCAD resume its push higher for a new high of 1.3875.
  • The pair has for now held clearance of key resistance at 1.3862 (Mar 10 high) and opened major resistance at 1.3977 (Oct 13, 2022 high).
  • Looking to next week, it's a quiet start before early local attention will be on monthly GDP on Tuesday after the BoC this week noted the economy is soon to be if not already in excess supply. The labour report on Fri follows, bookending the FOMC decision.
