USDCAD Pushes Fresh Early August Lows, Maintains Oversold Conditions

CANADA
  • USDCAD has pushed to new recent lows of 1.3305. It builds on yesterday’s clearance of support at 1.3320 (Aug 4 low) to open 1.3283 (76.4% retrace of Jul 14 – Nov 1 bull phase).
  • CAD trades towards the lower end of the G10 FX pack on the day, hindered on crosses by broader USD weakness whilst the week’s narrowing in the 2Y Can-US yield differentials has stalled.
  • Tomorrow sees monthly CAD GDP plus US PCE both at 0830ET, and with minimal option expiry for the cut to help bias direction either way.
