Vessels Turn Away From Freeport Amid Potential Delay
A few LNG vessels have turned away from the Freeport LNG terminal in Texas in recent days, on expectation that the plant’s restart will be delayed, according to ship tracking data from Refintiv.
- Freeport had not yet submitted a request to resume service to the Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), indicating a delay to the November start-up date.
- Prism Brilliance is now waiting at Corpus Christi, after waiting for around three weeks. LNG Rosenrot, has turned around and is now heading towards Gibraltar and Prism Agility was on track for Freeport but tracking data show the vessel returning towards the east in the Atlantic.
- Some vessels remain waiting outside Freeport.
