RBNZ: VIEW: Goldman Sachs note that "in the base case scenario, we expect the
RBNZ to cut -50bp in 2Q2020, with back-to-back cuts in March and May. However,
we see a significant risk (40%) of a -50bp cut in March, given i) the March
meeting is already late in the month (25th) and ii) the RBNZ does not meet in
April. In turn, a more aggressive cut in March may be viewed as a more prudent
approach, and we note that the RBNZ demonstrated with its surprise 50bp cut in
August 2019 a preparedness to act decisively in this way."
