VIEW: Moody’s Believes Australia Will Avoid A Recession

Moody’s Analaytics are forecasting that Australian household consumption will slow to 0.3% in 2023 from 6.2% this year, as tighter monetary policy weighs on budgets. They expect that there will be more negative retail sales prints but that there won’t be an overall recession. The tight labour market should support household incomes.
