Voter Confidence In US Economy Improves Slightly

US

A new survey from AP/NORC has found that voter confidence in the US economy has strengthened slightly in the past few months.

  • The poll finds that 34% of adults now believe the economy is "good," up from a low of 24% in May. Notably, while President Biden is still underwater on the economy, more respondents from all parties now report the economy as "good" than at any point since December 2021.
  • The survey will suggests that recent economic data indicting an easing of inflation and resilient GDP data may be filtering through to voters.
  • The survey still gives Biden low marks on general approval. At 42%, Biden's approval remains flat with respondents rating the president poorly on his ability to control corruption, ability to accomplish policy goals, crisis management, and running of the White House.
