A new survey from ABC News/Ipsos has found that, “a majority of Americans think Vice President Kamala Harris is prepared to accept the outcome of the election as legitimate, while far fewer Americans think former President Donald Trump is prepared to do the same.”
- Ipsos: “A majority of Americans think President Biden did legitimately win the 2020 presidential election, and most Americans are prepared to accept the outcome of the 2024 presidential election as legitimate.
- “Four in five (81%) Americans are prepared to accept the outcome of the 2024 presidential election as legitimate, 17% say they are not prepared to accept, and 2% skipped the question.”
- ABC notes: “One in three (34%) lacks confidence that votes in the election will be counted accurately, similar to the share who said so in 2022. Sixty-five percent are very or somewhat confident in an accurate count; just half of them, 32%, are very confident. Moreover, an identical 34% think Joe Biden did not legitimately win the 2020 election, little changed since his inauguration.”
