VP Says Fight Against Inflation Remains the Priority

The Turkish government aims to establish disinflation as soon as possible as expectations are anchored and distortion in pricing behavior is reined in, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said in a post on social media following a meeting of the Economy Coordination Board on Tuesday. Highlights from the post:

• "As a result of controlling the deterioration in pricing behavior and anchoring expectations with the monetary tightening process, we aim to establish disinflation as soon as possible and to reduce inflation to single-digit levels in the medium term."
• "We aim to increase our country's competitiveness and productivity in production, and to achieve a structural transformation that will improve the potential of our economy."
• "In an environment of trust and stability, the fight against inflation will continue to be our priority."
