Weaker USD Trend Continues, Yen Leads Gains

FOREX

Early G10 trends are skewed towards USD weakness in the first part of Thursday trade. Yen is the standout, up a further 0.35%, after yesterday's near 1% gain.

  • USD/JPY was last in the 154.30/35 region, comfortably sub Wednesday lows. Carry over from Wednesday's session around weaker US yields is a likely yen support.
  • US Tsy 10yr futures are ticking higher in early trade, threatening to break above intra-session highs from Wednesday.
  • AUD and NZD also track higher, but are only up 0.1% from end NY levels.
  • The BBDXY is off by nearly 0.10%, last near 1243.35.
  • Coming up we have Q1 GDP data in Japan, while later on is Aust jobs data.
