Week Ahead

UK
  • In addition to the busy week for BOE speakers, activity data is due on Friday, consensus looks for -0.2%M/M with the vast majority of economists looking for a -0.3% to -0.1% print. The data will come ahead of labour market data Tuesday next week and inflation data next week.
  • Tuesday will see the launch of the new 10-year 3.75% Jan-33 gilt while this week sees the resumption of BOE sales with sales every day.
  • There will be active APF sales of shorts on Monday and mediums on Thursday this week and Financial Stability sales on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday this week.
  • Note that the BOE has tweaked the gilts available for its Financial Stability sales operation and will now exclude gilts due to be issued +/- 7 days by the DMO (rather than +/- 14 days as previously).
  • This change will not be made for APF sales which will still exclude gilts due for sales by the DMO within +/- 14 days.
