What to watch

MARKET INSIGHT

There has been a mild risk-on feel to Asian markets overnight despite the Covid-19 situation continuing to brew some uncertainty in China. Equity futures are higher on the day and core fixed income has drifted lower but remains within Friday's range.

  • The main data of the day will be the German IFO survey (with supply chain disruption from the Ukraine war to be closely watched) and the Belgian BNB business survey.
  • However, the main event will probably be a policy panel at an Austrian National Bank event. The panel topic will be "Monetary policy, policy interaction and inflation in a post-pandemic world with severe geopolitical tensions" with panelists including Holzmann, Bundesbank's Nagel and BOE Governor Bailey. This panel is due to begin at 15:15BST / 16:15CET.
  • We are also due to hear from ECB's de Cos and Villeroy and the Fed's Bostic.
