What to watch

OUTLOOK
  • It's going to be a relatively slow start to a hugely busy data week. From tomorrow we will start to receive flash national HICP prints across the Eurozone (including German state data) which will culminate in the Eurozone number being released on Wednesday.
  • Wednesday will also see the second print of US Q3 GDP as well as the release of the MNI Chicago Business Barometer and JOLTS.
  • Thursday will see final PMI prints as well as the ISM manufacturing index and US personal income / spending data.
  • Friday will then see US labour market data.
  • In terms of events today, ECB President Lagarde will testify ahead of the Committee of Economic and Monetary Affairs at the European Parliament and we will hear from Fed's Williams and Bullard and Bundesbank's Nagel towards the end of the European session.
  • It's also a decent day for supply with Italy launching its new 5-year BTP via an exchange and the EU selling 5/20-year bonds via auction.
