WTI Open interest Highest Since March 2022 but Brent Declining

Brent crude open interest reduces from a high late in January while WTI has climbed to the highest since March 2022.

  • ICE Brent aggregate open interest has fallen to 2.14m from a peak of 2.28m in late March but is still higher than volumes see in early March.
  • Nymex WTI open interest has seen a more gradual increase since the start of March rising from 1.75m to 1.86m.
  • ICE Gasoil open interest is also up this year to 0.57m while Nymex RBOB is largely unchanged since the start of March at 0.31m.
