Xi @ BRICS-Countries Need To Oppose Decoupling, Econ Coercion

(MNI) London - Chinese President Xi Jinping has just finished speaking at the BRICS summit, states that 'BRICS countries need to oppose decoupling and economic coercion.' Xi; 'BRICS countries should commit to true multilateralism...reject attempts to create exclusive blocs.'

  • Xi calls for an acceleration of BRICS expansion. China and Russia viewed as major proponents of expansion. While Brazil, India and South Africa have also backed expansion it is unclear whether agreement will be reached on this summit as to which countries should be allowed to join and when.
  • Xi: 'Will explore establishment of global remote sensing satellite data for BRICS countries.' Xi: 'We should further expand AI cooperation, constantly improve safety, reliability and fairness of AI tech.'
  • Xi: 'We should strengthen cultural exchanges, oppose ideological and institutional confrontations."
  • Xi: 'We need to give full play to the New Development Bank, promote reform of international financial and monetary system.'
