Y/Y Inflation Metrics Seen Rising to New Multi-Year Highs

  • Inflation data due later today is expected to be broadly inline for the M/M reading at 0.55%, while the Y/Y figure is seen advancing to 7.4%.
  • The BCB's FX swaps auctions continue for a second session, with the bank to rollover up to 15,000 contracts today. Yesterday's operation saw full take-up.
  • Treasury also auctions three lines of inflation-linked NTNs, with the 2024, 2028 and 2040 lines being sold.
  • Today sees the arrival of more key inputs for the Sinovac vaccine, with 3,000 litres of base materials due to arrive Tuesday and produce as much as 5mln doses.
  • The Indian COVID variant is suspected to have been found in Rio de Janeiro, Ceara and Para states, according to health department notes.
