Yoon-Kishida Summit Unlikely To Result In Joint Declaration-Yonhap

ASIA

Yonhap News Agency reports that South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are unlikely to adopt a joint declaration at the end of their upcoming summit, even as they will be holding the customary joint press conference.

  • The summit marks the resumption of "shuttle diplomacy" between the two countries, which was a regular practice before bilateral relations soured over the past decade.
