Zloty Ticks Lower, Tusk Delivers Policy Speech

EUR/PLN has added 40 pips and last deals at 4.3405, with the zloty coming under some modest pressure despite wider greenback weakness. The broader contours of a familiar technical picture remain unchanged, with bulls looking to attack the 20-EMA at 4.3575. On the flip side, the focus is on Dec 5 low of 4.3163, followed by Mar 4, 2020 low of 4.2870.

  • PM-in-waiting Donald Tusk delivers his exposé in parliament, which will be followed by a debate and vote of confidence. The first part of his speech revolves around foreign policy, with the leader stressing the need to maintain support for Ukraine and be "assertive" towards foreign leaders who are exposing Kyiv to the risk of defeat.
  • POLGB curve has shifted lower, with yields last seen 3.3-6.2bp away from neutral levels. The WIG20 Index has shed 1% this morning, pulling back from cyclical highs.
