Publication of Import/Export Data to be Temporarily Suspended

  • Kommersant write that the Bank of Russia are working on further measures to help the domestic economy including programs to assist in the settling of external debt, further tweaks to the sale of export FX earnings as well as work on correspondent account status for a number of banks. Nonetheless, the piece adds that some of the proposals made recently have already become irrelevant due to the fast-changing requirements of the economy.
  • The Russian statistics agency has ceased the publication of export and imports data – citing a need to avoid incorrect assessments, speculations and inconsistences in reporting. The head of the Russian stats agency added that the measure is temporary, but did not add when it become effective.
