President Duda To Appoint New Finance Minister At 3pm CET

  • President Andrzej Duda is due to appoint a new finance minister at 3pm in Warsaw.
  • As a reminder, former FinMin Minister Tadeusz Koscinski resigned in February following botched tax system overhaul; PM Morawiecki has taken over FinMin's responsibilities since then.
  • Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminskisaid at a press conference in Warsaw that Poland imposes sanctions including asset freezes and entry bans for Russian companies and individuals (BBG).
  • Economic data showed this morning that unemployment rate fell to 5.4% in March (as exp.), down from 5.5% the previous month.
