Fourth Hearing Of January 6 Committee Underway

The January 6 select committee has begun its fourth public hearing investigating the unrest on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021.

  • Today's session will focus on former President Donald Trump’s alleged attempts to pressure state officials to overturn the 2020 election.
  • Lead committee member Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA): “When state elections officials refused to stop the count, Donald Trump and his campaign tried to put pressure on them... As we will show, the president’s supporters heard the former president’s claims of fraud, and the false allegations he made against state and local officials, as a call to action.”
  • The headline act of the day will be the testimony of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. He was the official tasked by Trump with finding additional votes in Georgia. He also survived a Trump attempt to dislodge him from office last month in the Georgian primaries.
