The United States Senate will convene today at 15:00 ET 20:00 BST to resume consideration on the ~USD40 billion package of military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
- According to the schedule of Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the bill at 17:30 ET 22:30 BST. If this passes then a final vote on the bill is likely to take place on Wednesday.
- Last week Schumer tried to fast-track a vote but was blocked by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) who wanted an inspector general to oversee Ukraine funds.
- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell assured reporters on Sunday that the package would be passed with strong bipartisan support this week.
