24 Strong Constitution Committee Approved, BCCh Decision

  • Congress have approved the members of the committee that will outline the nation’s new constitution, five months after voters rejected the first proposal. The senate confirmed 12 members on Wednesday, who are combined with the 12 that the lower house endorsed the day before. All 24 were named by the political parties.
    • The committee of experts will start work in March to draw up a draft of the constitution before it goes to an elected body to be adapted starting in June.
  • All 16 analysts in the Bloomberg survey are expecting the BCCh to keep rates on hold at 11.25% at their decision today which is scheduled for 2100GMT/1600ET. However, one preview seen by MNI is calling for a cut today.
