This document will formalise the major outcomes from and decisions made at the summit.

  • It is not only the G7 leaders who come to the summit facing their own domestic political obstacles (see 'G7: Summit Convenes With Leaders Under Pressure (2/2)' 0938BST). Argentinian President Javier Milei will hold bilaterals amid violent protests in Buenos Aires opposing his flagship economic reforms. Meanwhile, Indian PM Narendra Modi, coming off the back of disappointing general election results in which his BJP lost its majority, will meet with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau amid a major deterioration in relations.
  • On the summit's first day, leaders reached a landmark deal on using the profits generated on frozen Russian assets to pay for a USD50bn loan to Ukraine. The minutiae will be worked out at EU level where unanimous support will be required among all member states. Ukraine also achieved a 10-year security agreement with the US and a decade-long multibillion dollar support package from Japan.
