EQUITIES: 45 minutes in, US equity markets are on the back foot to mirror the
moves in stock markets across the European session today. The declines are
slightly more muted versus their European counterparts, with the S&P500 & Dow
Jones off just over 1%, while NASDAQ holds just 0.5% losses.
- In the S&P500, over 450 constituents are lower so far today with cyclical
energy, industrials and financials the hardest hit. The most muted declines are
seen in tech, communication and healthcare names.
- Despite the decline in cash today, at the close yesterday the CBOE's put/call
ratio gauge hit another multi-year low (equalling the lowest read of 2011) at
just 0.37.
