A Mixed Bag After The Elongated U.S. Weekend

EQUITIES

E-minis edged away from their respective early Asia-Pac highs, with little in the way of notable macro headline news flow apparent, as familiar drivers confront an equally familiar round of risks. Tech has underperformed over the elongated U.S. weekend, on the back of matters we have covered previously, although all 3 of the major contracts are off worst levels.

  • Tech headwinds and Sino-U.S. tensions weighed on China/Hong Kong equities at the margins, while the Nikkei 225 and ASX 200 looked to the positive lead evident from Monday's European session.
  • Nikkei 225 +0.5%, Hang Seng -0.6%, CSI 300 -0.3%, ASX 200 +0.5%.
  • S&P 500 futures +8, DJIA futures +165, NASDAQ 100 futures -64.
