A$ Range Trading After Rallying Wednesday

After outperforming on Wednesday and heading towards 65c, Aussie is under pressure during APAC trading today. AUDUSD is down 0.1% to 0.6474, off the intraday low of 0.6467. It reached a high of 0.6488 earlier. The USD index has recovered to be flat on the day following higher US yields.

  • AUDJPY is range trading and is steady around 93.88. AUDNZD is 0.2% higher at 1.0855. AUDEUR is 0.1% lower at 0.5958, close to the intraday low, and AUDGBP is flat at 0.5093.
  • Equity markets are rallying with the ASX up 0.3%, the CSI 300 +0.3% and the Nikkei +0.4%. The S&P e-mini is up 0.6%. Oil prices though are down again with Brent 0.5% lower at $82.77/bbl. Copper has fallen 0.3% and iron ore is holding gains at just under $114/t.
  • Later the Fed’s Harker and Collins speak. On the data front there are US jobless claims, July durable goods orders and Chicago &Kansas City Fed Indices
