JGBS
JGBS: A tight overnight session for JGB futures saw the contract +2 ticks vs.
Tokyo settlement, after it ticked away from best levels.
- Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda used his latest address (late Thursday) to note
that the BOJ will manage monetary policy in an appropriate manner without any
preconceptions, while carefully examining various risks. However, he didn't
elaborate on how to deal with the heightened risks and what kinds of measures
the BOJ would take at the upcoming policy-setting meeting, scheduled for Oct.
30-31.
- As a reminder, twist flattening was the order of the day on Thursday as buyers
stepped into the super-long end in the wake of Wednesday's weakness.
- Tokyo CPI data & 2-Year supply provide the highlights of today's local docket.
