BOND SUMMARY: After some risk off moves on the European open, EGBs and gilts
have retraced some of their early losses but still remain under pressure this
morning, in spite of European equities lower this morning.
- The main headlines are surrounding the Austrian elections which were called
over the weekend with 10y spreads to Bunds about 1.3bp wider on the day -
broadly in line with other semi-core spreads. Peripheral spreads are generally a
little tighter. There is little of note on the data calendar today.
- The UK DMO will hold its quarterly investor and GEMM meetings today.
- Gilt futures are down -0.15 today at 128.77 with 10y yields up 2.1bp at 1.054%
and 2y yields up 1.7bp at 0.704%.
- Bund futures are down -0.23 today at 166.83 with 10y Bund yields up 1.5bp at
-0.90% and Schatz yields up 0.7bp at -0.645%.
- BTP futures are up 0.04 today at 129.81 with 10y yields up 0.5bp at 2.663% and
2y yields down -0.1bp at 0.589%.
- OAT futures are down -0.29 today at 162.98 with 10y yields up 2.0bp at 0.304%
and 2y yields up 0.5bp at -0.565%.
