GILT SUMMARY
GILT SUMMARY: Ahead of this evening's indicative votes, PM Theresa May has
refused to be drawn into confirming whether or not the outcome will form the
basis of government policy.
- Conservative PMs will get a free vote on the Brexit motions, while Labour MPs
are reportedly being whipped to back a second referendum.
- In what could be a significant intervention, we are hearing that the DUP could
shortly be making a statement.
- There is still no substantive indication of the prime minister announcing her
departure date in a bid to secure more support for her deal.
- Gilts have lacked direction today, with yields returning to this morning's
ranges around 1-2bp lower on the day. Current yield levels: 2-year 0.648%,
5-year 0.773%, 10-year 0.993%, 30-year 1.515%.
- The Jun-19 gilt future trades at 129.42, 28ticks off the high.
- Short sterling futures are 0.5-1.5 ticks higher on the day.
