  • Analyst says acceptance of the HDP closure indictment just a week after meeting with Biden is very disappointing and risks undermining calls from the US & EU to strengthen its democracy
  • German FM Maas calls for the EU to update its 2016 Migrant Deal with Turkey, while pointing to the need for further funding to be provided to Turkey
    • over and above the additional EUR3bn that was expected to be delivered. So Far Turkey has received EUR3bn of the 6bn originally agreed
  • Turkey set to ease restrictions further from 1 July, removing Sunday lockdowns and curfews after 1900 on weekday and normal working order of public institutions and transport.
    • Also plans to start administering third doses of Covid-19 vaccines in July and reach 70% vaccination by September. First doses should be completed by August
  • Resumption of flights with Russia expected to bring 3-7m tourists by the winter season (same as 2019) as summer flights restart
