ANO Leaders To Hold Meeting, Unemployment Rate Ticks Higher

  • Senior executive officials from the main opposition ANO party will meet today to discuss the outcome of the recent presidential election and decide on the future of leader Andrej Babis. There has been speculation that Babis could give up his parliamentary seat, albeit it doesn't seem like a firm decision has been made.
  • Czechia's unemployment rate increased to 3.9% last month from 3.7% registered in December, matching the consensus forecast. The Employment Office commented that the number of jobseekers exceeded the number of vacancies for the first time in nearly five years.
