ASIA: ANZ estimate that "overall foreign portfolio flows into Asia ex-China
turned slightly positive in March, following the large broad-based outflows seen
the previous month. Equity outflows continued for a second consecutive month but
at a significantly reduced pace. Debt inflows were recorded in all markets with
the exception of India and Thailand. Robust demand for China bonds continued.
Ongoing trade tensions, increased geopolitical tensions over Syria and recent
PMI data suggesting some easing in growth are key risks to the flow picture in
the region. While we still expect overall flows to remain positive for the year,
it is set to be more volatile."
