Approval Rating Of Former President Trump Continues To Crater

US

The approval rating of former US President Donald Trump has continued to collapse following the poor performance of Trump-endorsed candidates at the US Midterm Elections in November last year.

  • According to Real Clear Politics, Trump is currently experiencing a -20.5% approval rating. This compares unfavourably with President Joe Biden, currently the most popular US political leader surveyed by RCP, with a -8.8% approval rating which has been steadily increasing since November.
  • Trump's approval is likely to take another hit in upcoming surveys after he was seen as ineffective in influencing the outcome of last week's drama surrounding Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) election to Speaker of the House of Representatives.
  • Trump is the only candidate to have declared an intent to run for president in 2024 and his star appears to be waning across the Republican party and support base.
  • Betting markets now consider Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as favourite to take the Republican party nomination for 2024.
