- April durable goods orders are expected to fall by 2.0% in April based on both
the Bloomberg consensus and MNI survey of analysts. This follows a 2.8% jump in
March and a 2.6% decline in February.
- The key factor is an expected decline in transportation orders after a solid
March increase, as foreshadowed by a sharp drop-off in Boeing orders in the
current month.
- New orders ex. transportation are expected to rise by 0.1% according to a
Bloomberg survey and by 0.2% in an MNI survey. This follows a 0.2% gain in March
- Annual revisions released on May 16 will be included with the data.
