LNG
LNG flows continue to shift from Asia to Europe, with some strength in India’s April imports not enough to offset weakness in China and Japan. Europe’s imports rose for a third month as spot prices eased.
- The total volume of LNG imported by Asia was 20.86m tonnes in April, down from 22.23m tonnes in March and 22.19m in February according to Kpler.
- European imports rose to the most since December up to 12.50m tonnes in April.
- European LNG imports could steady or ease back in coming months due to healthy gas storage inventories while Asia's LNG demand could increase as a declining spot price increases interest from price-sensitive buyers such as India and Pakistan.
- The north Asia spot LNG price fell to the lowest since June 2021 at 11.05$/mmbtu in the week to April 28.
