ASIA STOCKS: Foreign Investors Continue Buying Indonesian & Philippines Equities

Indonesian equities saw the 15th straight day of net buying while the Philippines has hit 13 straight sessions of net buying. There have been multiple public holiday's across the region this week, while EM equities benefitted from the hope of large Fed rate cuts.

  • South Korea: Has been out for the week. The 5-day average is -$434m, below both the 20-day average of -$273m and the 100-day average of -$12m.
  • Taiwan: Saw $485m of outflows yesterday, with the past 5 sessions reaching +$493m, while YTD is -$15.34b. The 5-day average is +$99m, above the 20-day average of -$374m but below the 100-day average of -$143m.
  • India: There have been no reported flows from India this week, the trend has been strong recently although the Nifty 50 has tracked sideways since Sept 12, YTD flows are +$21.59b. The 5-day average is +$502m, above the 20-day average of +$376m and the 100-day average of +$81m.
  • Indonesia: Saw inflows of $93m yesterday, with the past 5 sessions netting +$1.42b, while YTD flows are +$3.51b. The 5-day average is +$283m, above both the 20-day average of +$152m and the 100-day average of +$27m.
  • Thailand: Saw inflows of $105m yesterday, with the past 5 sessions now totaling +$181m, while YTD flows are -$2.60b. The 5-day average is +$36m, below the 20-day average of +$47m and the 100-day average of -$7m.
  • Malaysia: Saw outflows of $18m yesterday, with the past 5 sessions netting -$12m, while YTD flows are +$951m. The 5-day average is -$2m, below the 20-day average of +$37m but above the 100-day average of +$16m.
  • Philippines: Saw inflows of $14m yesterday, with the past 5 sessions totaling +$41m, while YTD flows are -$223m. The 5-day average is +$8m, below the 20-day average of +$11m but above the 100-day average of -$3m.
