Atlanta Fed Pres Bostic on CNBC.................>

FED
FED: Atlanta Fed Pres Bostic on CNBC earlier...says outlook for the US economy
is 'pretty good'. Has 'no impulses to think that we need to do anything else
with our policy stance'.
- Sees only short-term hit to economy from coronavirus.
- Re market pricing for a cut, Bostic acknowledges there are many scenarios that
can play out between now and say June/July. So Fed could move if weakness is
greater than expected - but his baseline is no change.
- Re yield curve flattening: Mostly due to global, structural factors, i.e.
ex-U.S. interest rates are low, neutral rate is low.
- Re asset prices and Fed liquidity measures: does not think balance sheet
measures have boosted stock market. Correlation doesn't always equal causation,
also other factors (e.g. passive investment). There may be 'a little' due to Fed
policy. But the economy can stand on its own two feet without the Fed, `we
should let it do that`.
