AUSSIE
AUSSIE: AUD/USD last deals at $0.7194, 13 pips higher on the day, after closing
virtually unchanged yesterday, as it managed to bounce from lows of $0.7165 in
the NY afternoon on the back of positive news re: global trade, with U.S. Tsy
Sec Mnuchin saying that the U.S. and China are planning to hold trade talks in
January.
- Yesterday's release of RBA Dec meeting minutes had little impact on price
action, as it struck a slightly dovish note, but merely reiterated familiar
themes.
- Initial resistance is located at $0.7204, where the rate peaked yesterday, and
a break above would bring the 100-DMA at $0.7222 into focus. On the downside,
bears eye yesterday's low and a fal below that level would give them a green
light to target the Dec 14 low of $0.7151.
- Australian labour mkt data is due Thursday, elsewhere the Aussie calendar is
rather light.
