*Euro opened in Asia at the lower side of yesterday's $1.1770 to $1.1838 range,
where broad based US dollar strength and hawkish comments from Fed's Dudley
placed the Euro on the defensive
*Initially dipping to $1.1768 ahead of the Tokyo open, demand into today's Tokyo
fix pushed the Euro higher from around the mid-$1.1770's to $1.1790 before
fading
*Post fix, further cross related demand saw the Euro rise from around $1.1780 to
post a new session high of $1.1793 before stalling
*Consolidation then took hold for the balance of the session, the pair confined
to a tight $1.1780-86 range
*Option expiries for today include,$1.1780-85(E1.36bn) and $1.1800(E930mn)
*Support lies at $1.1768 (50% fib $1.1689-$1.1847), while hourly resistance is
found at $1.1796.
*German Q2 GDP provides the event risk for the session ahead, which also
includes US retail sales.
