AUSSIE BONDS: Aussie bonds unchanged after the RBA minutes despite a more upbeat
tone from the Bank.
- The minutes revealed the central bank is confident the economy will strengthen
further next year and sees further progress being made on the jobless rate.
- The positive release comes after the MYEFO which paved the way for tax cuts in
the next budget and represents tightening on the fiscal purse strings after a
decade of downtrend.
- 3-Year future last down 4 ticks at 97.865, MNI technical analysis sees support
at 97.82 the Repeated Daily Lows.
- 10-Year future last down 4.5 ticks at 97.395, MNI technical analysis sees
support at 97.3650 the 17 Dec Low
- Yields higher, curve steepens. 3-/10-Year spread last 1bp wider at 46.7bp,
lowest since October 2016.
