*Modest US Dollar strength, led by dollar-yen pushed the Aussie lower from near
$0.7678 to $0.7664 in early Asia
*As US TSY yields ticked lower Aussie climbed to $0.7681, pullbacks were
shallow, Aussie-kiwi demand then saw the Aussie edge higher to $0.7682
*For the balance of the session the pair consolidated in the mid-to-high
$0.7670's
*The quiet theme spilled over into Europe, early slippage to $0.7665 stalled
ahead of support from the Asia low ($0.7664)
*Rate was quick to pare losses, before euro based short covering linked to
easing Catalonia tensions supported
*Aud/jpy demand extended the recovery to $0.7688, before profit take sales
eased. Hourly resistance is noted at $0.7690, ahead of $0.7695 (200-dma). Aussie
last $0.7677.
