ASIAN MARKETS, AUSSIE-YEN
AUSSIE-YEN: AUD/JPY has added 17 pips, climbing past Friday's best levels, and
last sits at Y69.85. The rate is approaching a key resistance level at Y70.17,
which represents the peak of Apr 30. A break here is needed to reinstate bullish
momentum and open up Mar 3 high of Y71.52. A dip through May 7 low/50-DMA at
Y67.63/59 would allow bears to set their sights on Apr 21 low of Y67.29.
- Little to drive the move apart from broader JPY weakness, seen as U.S. equity
index futures have turned green. News and data flow have remained fairly light
so far. The BoJ has just released the Summary of Opinions from their Apr 27
monetary policy meeting.
