ASIAN MARKETS, AUSSIE-YEN
AUSSIE-YEN: AUD/JPY last deals at Y72.08, 5 pips lower on the day, after having
a brief look below the Y72.00 mark.
- The rate dipped after APRA introduced measures aimed at strengthening rules to
combat contagion risk within banking groups. The bulk of those losses was
recouped thereafter.
- A return below Y72.00 would expose Y71.81, which limited losses on Friday.
Conversely, bulls keep an eye on the Aug 8 high of Y72.36, located ahead of the
upper 1.0% 10-DMA envelope at Y72.63.
- Focus turns to the minutes from the RBA's most recent MonPol meeting, due at
the bottom of the hour.
