  • Australia retail sales seasonally adjusted estimate rose 0.9% month-on-month in May, unchanged from the reading last month.
  • Retail sales rose 10.4% compared with May 2021, following 9.6% y/y gain in April.
  • Food retailing rose 0.6% ($73.2m) in May, in seasonally adjusted terms.
  • Household goods retailing rose 0.4% ($22.7m).
  • Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing fell 1.4% (-$41.8m).
  • Department stores rose 5.1% ($90.9m).
  • Other retailing rose 1.5% ($78.5m).
