Australia Q1 Construction Work Done +1.8%

  • Australia Q1 total construction work done rose 1.8% to $57,686.5m. The increase was driven by engineering work, which rose 5.3% in the March quarter and is 14.9% higher than the same time last year.
  • Building work done fell 1.1% to $30,620.7m, 2.2% lower than the same time last year.
  • The value of building work done fell 1.1% in the March quarter, in seasonally adjusted terms. The decrease was driven by a fall in residential building work, which decreased 2.0% in the March quarter and is down -5.1% than at the same time last year. Non-residential building work done is 0.3% higher in the March quarter, 2.2% higher than at the same time last year.
